Pearson Expands Student Campus Ambassador Program to Private Sector Colleges and Universities

Grapevine, TX (PRWEB) June 06, 2011

Pearson, the worlds leading learning company, today announced the expansion of its popular student Campus Ambassador program to private sector colleges and universities. The announcement was made at the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities 2011 Annual Convention & Expo in Grapevine, Texas.

Pearsons Campus Ambassador program, which employs students to collaborate with faculty, other students and Pearson professionals to shape existing and future programs and services, is designed to provide students with valuable business skills and practical work experience as they offer feedback on the educational needs of students in this sector.

The program is currently at the following private sector institutions: American Career College, College of Westchester, Dunwoody College, Florida Technical College, Globe University, Harrison College, PIMA, Rasmussen College, Santa Barbara Business College, South University and Vista College.

Pearson Campus Ambassadors connect us directly with the students we serve and allow them to make a real and lasting impact on student success, said Don Kilburn, CEO of Pearson Learning Solutions. By extending this program to students at private sector schools, well learn more about the specific needs of these students as we work to create and implement programs that will support their success.

Pearson Campus Ambassadors must commit to a minimum of six months of service and will assist with a variety of activities, including the development of criteria for the Pearson Prize for Higher Education; evaluating new Pearson offerings that tackle recruiting and placement issues; contributing to Pearsons blog to share student perspectives; and assisting with initiatives that demonstrate improved effectiveness and outcomes to institutions in support of federal standards.

MacroView Labs Unveils Powerful Smartphone App for Colleges and Universities with Suite of Location-Based Tools and Revenue-Generating Features

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 2, 2010

Just in time for spring college tours, MacroView Labs, Inc. (http://www.macroviewlabs.com) today released a development platform for colleges and universities to create their own interactive cell phone apps. The apps work on iPhone, Blackberry and Android phones.

Whether youre a sophomore checking your class schedule, a prospective student trying to find the dorms or an alum watching streaming video of the college football game, you can do it all from the app, said MacroView Chief Technology Officer Keith Michel. As you walk around campus, you have access to anything you want to know about the school and the surrounding area.

The new app available immediately to colleges and universities will benefit the schools as well as app users. Schools can use it to learn from and better serve their constituents, while generating revenue though the sale of merchandise, textbooks, tickets or digital content. Schools can also reach out to alumni to supplement fundraising campaigns using the app, and can charge local businesses for sponsored content.

Colleges and universities that build an app using MacroView Labs platform can allow users to do the following and more from their phones:
